What is New Destiny Treatment Center?

New Destiny Treatment Center is a Christian-based residential program. The treatment center is certified with Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS) as a halfway house for the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. We believe that the only treatment is abstinence and the only cure is Christ. Back to top

What is the length of treatment?

New Destiny Treatment Center offers a residential nine-month program.

Is a client able to continue working while in treatment?

Since the program offered in the treatment center involves an intense and well-structured schedule in order to accomplish its mission, the client is not able to maintain outside employment during the nine months of treatment.

What does a typical day of treatment consist of?

The daily schedule begins with a 6:30 a.m. rising time and concludes with a 10:30 p.m. bedtime. The schedule includes classes in psychological education, substance abuse education, twelve-step recovery, spiritual formation, and GED readiness/computer literacy. Other services provided include daily group counseling, weekly individual therapy, recreational activities, medical services, urinalysis drug screening, and case management.

Is New Destiny Treatment Center a co-ed facility?


New Destiny Treatment Center serves adult males between the ages of 18 and 60. New Destiny Treatment Center reserves the right to deny treatment to those who have been convicted of sexual crimes or arson.

What is the first step to be accepted into New Destiny Treatment Center?


Call the office at 330-825-5202 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for a phone interview.

What are the admission requirements?

1. A case manager must assess the individual. (New Destiny Treatment Center reserves the right to deny treatment based on the evaluation of the individual.)

2. The individual must be committed to nine months of treatment.

3. The individual must agree to comply with all rules and regulations of the program.

4. The individual must be willing to conform to new behaviors and attitudes (e.g. no fighting, cursing, or using substances).

How much does the program cost?

The daily cost of treatment can be obtained by calling the office at 330-825-5202. The daily cost includes lodging, meals, clothing, toiletries and treatment. Prospective clients who are unable to pay for treatment may register for benefits through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

What types of identification are necessary for admittance?

A photo I.D., birth certificate and social security card are needed upon admittance into New Destiny Treatment Center.

Does a prospective client need a referral for treatment?

No. However, New Destiny Treatment Center does accept referrals from courts, probation/parole officers, attorneys, and other agencies in addition to self-referrals.

What security measures do you have in place?


Although New Destiny Treatment Center is not a secure/lock down facility, there are security personnel on the grounds 24 hours, seven days a week.

Do you allow family visitation and phone calls?


A client may not have visitation or receive phone calls for the first thirty days after being admitted. After thirty days, family may visit on the scheduled day and time and attend our chapel service each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. A client is not permitted to leave the facility for ninety days, except when accompanied by staff for medical or court appointments. When sufficient progress is made, the client may be permitted one overnight pass every other weekend.

Is a client permitted to receive letters?

There is no restriction on sending or receiving letters. Please address the letter to the client in care of New Destiny Treatment Center, 6694 Taylor Rd., Clinton, Ohio 44216.

Do you have medical staff?

Yes, Dr. Michael Jacobson sees each client on a monthly basis and we have a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Practical Nurse on call 24 hours a day.

Is smoking/tobacco use permitted?

New Destiny is a tobacco-free facility. No tobacco use of any kind is allowed. Tobacco cessation techniques are offered to clients in treatment.

Do you test clients for drugs?

Yes, drug testing is administered on a weekly basis as well as randomly. One positive drug test is grounds for dismissal.

Do you perform any outpatient services?

Outpatient therapy is offered for the general population -- males, females, and adolescents. Drug testing services also are available to the public as well as ambulatory detoxification. Call the main office at 330-825-5202 for more information about these services.

Do you help individuals with rent payments and financial hardships?

New Destiny Treatment Center does not have any funds designated to assist individuals with rent payments or financial hardships.

What types of extra-curricular activities are available?

New Destiny Treatment Center provides G.E.D. classes through the Barberton Board of Education, computer classes, a weight room, basketball and volleyball.

Do you have a food pantry for those in need?

Yes. We are happy to provide food for families in need. Food may be picked up the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Please visit the office between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to sign up. You must present I.D.

Is there shelter for the homeless?

There are a limited number of beds for the homeless and for short-term emergency situations. For more information please call 330-825-5202, ext. 112.

Do you accept donations?
